To write a fraction and decimal as a percent

Lesson

Convert 4/5 to a percent.

Step 1) Divide the numerator of the fraction by the denominator (e.g. 4 ÷ 5=0.80)
Step 2) Multiply by 100 (Move the decimal point two places to the right) (e.g. 0.80*100 = 80)
Step 3) Round the answer to the desired precision.
Step 4) Follow the answer with the % sign (e.g. 80%)

Convert 0.83 to a percent.

Step 1) Multiply the decimal by 100 (e.g. 0.83 * 100 = 83)(Swoop, Swoop to the right)

Step 2) Add a percent sign after the answer (e.g. 83%)
